Wet underneath floor round toilet

Jade Brennan 04/08/2025 - 8.09 AM

So just ripped up all old flooring to have new one fitted and round the toilet when pulled up it’s wet underneath could this be something simple like not sealed correctly is it more then likely a leak?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello there if there is no wet around the area where the top of your toilet joins the bottoms then it’s more than likely the either cold feed pipe going to the toilet to fill it that’s leaking or it’s going to be soil pipe out the back cheers

Majority of the time, it’s the pan connector seal that sits at the back of the toilet outlet. This has more than likely perished

Depending on the type of toilet system you have installed, it could be one of the following thats causing the leak; 1. The water inlet thats feeding the inlet valve. 2. The flush pipe connections to the cistern and toilet. 3. The pan connector connecting the toilet to the stack. 4. The overflow pipe connected to the cistern.

Usually a straight forward fix, most likely be coming from the cistern if not getting any bad smells, (the waste usually lets you know that’s the culprit of the leak💩

Could be a number of things ? Pan , multiquick , flush cone or syphon, overflow or mains inlet all could be the issue. Small jobs
