Windows & Door fitting

Upvc windows newly fitted don't seem to fit

Vikki howe 01/08/2025 - 8.02 AM

We have just had new uovc windows fitted. Problem is they don't seem to fit. Biggest window looks like the frame has been made too big and seems to arch up slightly in the middle the window has a sash on each side and fixed panel in the middle. The sashes don't look like they sit straight and the center panel the black seal between the glass and the frame doesn't seem to fit . The other windows all have add ons which can clearly be seen from both inside and out , why are they there? The windows have uneven amounts of frame showing each side because of the add ons .

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You need to call back the company that manufactured and fitted the UPVC windows cause this is not acceptable.

I would 100% be working this out with the company that supplied and fit them. We all make mistakes however add ons should not be used for mis measurements but to add extra frame when there are no other alternatives. We give a 10 year guarantee on our windows and doors, as do most reputable fitters so you should be able to work this out.

Your large window may be oversized and forced in, causing bowing, misaligned sashes, and poor seals. Visible add-ons on other windows suggest frames were made too small and padded out, leaving uneven frame widths. Both issues point to poor measuring or ordering
