1 wall smells like muddy kinda smell in bedroom.

Hi, we seem to be getting a muddy plastery type smell in our bedroom on our wall. This wall is painted a different colour than our other walls and has been last painted 5 years ago. We have had our windows open for the last 8 weeks due to the hot weather but our room gets quite warm as its south/west facing and exposed to the sun all day. No visible mould or water stains. Just this odd smell. Any ideas?.

The muddy, plaster type smell you’re noticing is most likely from trapped moisture or humidity within the wall or old paint. With the room being warm and exposed to the sun, it can cause the wall to sweat slightly, even without visible mould , an early sign of damp or condensation starting to build up inside the plaster.
