Replacing Internal Doors

Callum 19/06/2025 - 10.48 AM

My doors measure: 3 x 1920mm x 680mm x 35mm 2 x 1957mm x 680mm x 35mm When buying brand new doors I see a lot are 1980mm x 686mm x 35mm. Are the new doors ok to buy / use or can I not take 30 - 60mm of the top/bottom? Thanks

They are perfectly fine to use they have a 50mm baton built in around them so you take as much off the bottom as possible and a little from the top.

I'd first check how much of the new door is trimmable. That is always specified. Cheaper doors are less likely to have that or will have a thinner strip of wood that can be trimmed to a lesser amount.
