Chimney breast removed - end terrace 1994

My ex husband removed the chimney breasts at ground floor level in both reception rooms - end terrace so no party wall. Over the last couple of years the coving seems to be coming away from the wall in places and a couple of 1mm horizontal cracks have appeared. They aren't straight more raggedy but not stepped and don't seem tp have gor any wider. Should this be of concern given the work was done over 30 years ago.
