Aluminium Juliet doors leaking

Anonymous user 06/06/2025 - 8.05 AM

I have had a pair of Juliet doors fitted in a bay on the flat roof of my new extension. These doors are flanked by a fixed glass panel at either side. When we get heavy rain, I get terrible water ingress which has caused extensive damage your ceiling below. My builders say the doors are rubbish and the water should not pass the gasket on the doors and that they should have a weather bar. The crimping on the doors is also questionable in one of the joints. This door set is also just screwed to the fixed side panels as the supplier says they don’t do a coupling kit - I have glued a flat aluminium bar to cover the gap which was left. The manufacturer just say “out doors don’t come with a drip bar” is this acceptable?
