How do I correctly paint Anaglypta Buckingham-like wallpaper, without the paint bulding up?
Anonymous user 02/06/2025 - 8.32 AM
I have old wallpaper in the hallway that needs a refresh, some of it was damaged over time, but it's small enough that paint should be able to hide it. I want to paint over it, and the closest match I found was the Anaglypta Buckingham. The pattern grooves are pretty deep, probably in the 1.5-2mm range. Not sure when it was installed, it was here when I moved in. The house was built in the 50s. What are the best brushes/rollers/paints to use in this case? Originally, I wanted to get a paint sprayer and spray it down, but I think paint would easily build up in the grooves in that case.

Thin your paint and apply with short to medium pile roller. I've got a feeling that you are 'overthinking' the problem.
