Hot water tap sounds like a foghorn

Carol Hall 12/05/2025 - 3.39 PM

A month ago the hot water tap in the sink upstairs in bathroom has started making a loud noise like a foghorn when I turn it up high. The one in the kitchen is ok. What can be the cause of this and would this be a reason for the hot water not being hot, only warm?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Could just be the cartridge in the tap. If all other hot water taps run warm there could be a issue

If it’s a flexible hose sometimes the connection to the tap has loosened off causing this noise, so slightly tighten the flex pipe . This should sort that noise out

Tap cartridge is the issue, not related anything hot water temperature. Please replace cartridge that will be solved the problem.
