Drains on road outside my door overflow when it rains

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 3.30 PM

Hi. When it rains heavily the drains on the road directly outside my house can't cope with the rain volume and the road floods. The drains are on the road but just a few feet from my front door. The council say they can't do anything and the drains are old. I only bought this house last year. How can I stop the flooding reaching my house?

You could either lift gully clear out soil and the out let or sand bags along driveway to try hold water back

Depending on your area, you need to call your water undertaker that deals with your local drainage, eg Severn Trent. If it is outside of your property boundary, it is their responsibility to sort the drainage.
