Hi are there any regs preventing a microwave housing unit being placed next to an induction hob?

Different areas of the country may have different regulations. Best course of action is to follow the manufacturers guidelines, usually in there manual for positioning next to gable walls or combustable materials. This is usually a minimum distance of 100mm from the edge of the hob to the panel/cabinet.
