Plumbing

leak after 9 months later. who's fault/

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 3.30 PM

a kitchen was fitted 9 months ago. there is a 22mm supply pipe coming out ion the wall that was originally there, with a push fit connector and other 22mm pipework coming if it. there is an original 22mm to 15mm reducer that was already there fir the last kitchen supply. which the new kitchen has been supplied from that reducer. 9 months later. There is a leak from the main 22mm pipe coming out of the wall and on the connector. something that was not touched or installed at the time of the kitchen and is a previous pipework. who is responsible fir the leak coming from the original pipe/pushfit fitting??

Try not to use push fit if you can solder the joints they will not leak

Soldering where possible is much safer than push fit.

I wouldn't blame the kitchen fitters or the person who contacted it to the 15mm reducer, push fittings could start leak over time if it's too old you just need to call a plumber to sort the leak
