I would like to ask why the My Builder Platform is not operated in the manner described and why despite the provision of legally obtained Independent Expert reports on the building trader’s works have been ignored? and why My Builder not taken any action or accountability in regards to the trader, solely based on review percentage and not the facts as laid out by Independent Experts on the disabled adaptations works which now stands at £30,330 paid despite the architect's plans being highlighted and provided along with building warrant issued when job was posted? As for some of the responses to my question, 1. The platform clearly states how it should operate for both parties but from experience and contact with My Builder it does not operate as described. 2. Communication how are builders not using the platform as intended to respond to clients communications. 3. Members of the public trust the platform to seek professionals they pay to undertake all elements of the works, including we’re building control inspectors should be advised. How can clients communicate when builders are not responsive even on the My Builder messaging facilities and absent from site?. 4. Why are builders being allowed to put the responsibility on clients when they pay professional building contractors to provide full services as described in their My Builder profiles?

Online platforms such as MyBuilder try their utmost to put home owners n contact with suitable trade’s people as designated jobs arise. However it is up to the customer to see that the works are carried out according to their expectations. This is why a good relationship and communication is essential for a successful project. I personally ask my clients on a regular basis if they are happy with the way everything is going and I’m sure most contractors do the same. If a building inspector is involved with the project then any issues or concerns could and should be queried an architect could possibly have an input too.
