Banging and squeeling noise when boiler heating cycle has been off for approx 1 hour

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 3.31 PM

Had a recent boiler swap from a combi (no issues just old) to a condensing combi boiler. Since it has been fitted once the heating has switched off and no hot water has been asked for there is a bang of pipes somewhere in the floor void followed by a loud squeel for approx 3 seconds then another loud bang. It does it every single time. Has anybody known this happen before? Again the only new component to the system is the boiler. Thanks

Just get the company back that fitted the new boiler 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sounds like water hammer or a tap washer somewhere in the property. When installing the new boiler the company would’ve had the mains water turned off, when switching it back on they may have opened it slightly more then it was before causing too much pressure therefore causing this problem.
