Stop cock in ground. What parts do I need to have

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 3.31 PM

I have an exposed 32 MM MDPE pipe. It Ts off into main house and outhouse jacquizzi. I want to put a stop cock in the ground so should there be any leaks or whatever, I can shut that part of the access off What equipment do I need to buy? I have a 32 MDPE pipe Stop tap chamber? The stop tap itself? How does the stop chamber get installed with the tap inside and making it water tight from rain?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You can get water meter box. This doesn’t have to be water tight, Just need to go in the ground just like main water meter box that’s outside your house.

Get a professional to do the job! As this piping underground is in connection with the main stop cock coming from distributer line, it's sensible to get a plumber to do this job as we will know what parts is required and how best to go about it.

You could use 110mm waste pipe to form a collar down to an access point, but be aware potable drinking water MDPE pipe has to be buried to a depth of 750-1350 mm below the surface to conform to standards. It certainly should not be exposed to sunlight as UV light degrades the pipe.
