You would need to have a solid base to ensure that the shed will not become unlevel and at risk of collapsing, also become flooded and rot the structure due to poor drainage.
You can either have a concrete base with a depth of 100mm below the grass level or you can have a slab base which is made up of layers.
E.G: - area marked out (9ft x 13ft)
- remove turf and dig area to a depth of 100mm
- lay a sheet of Landscape membrane
- 50mm depth coverage of MOT Type 1 sub base or Grano Dust
- 20mm layer of Sharp sand and cement at a Ratio of 9:1 dry mix
- 30mm slab depth which will be level with the turf surface.
- Once the area is level, add 9:1 dry mix into the pointing in between the
slabs.
You are then good to go to build your new shed!
Cost factors would be Labour, materials, waste disposal, possible VAT
I hope this helps in some way and tried my best so that it is written in simple form.
