Illuminated mirror not working.
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.36 PM
So ive have installed a new illuminated and heated mirror in our new bathroom. I installed new cabling from the 2 way light switch. The light works perfectly and there is power going to the mirror bit its as dead as a door-nail. I put a plug on the mirror and that works so its not the mirror that's the issue. Any advice as to what could be the problem would be much appreciated.

If you have taken power from the 2 way light switch was there a neutral there? You haven't said how old your property is, older places didn't take a neutral down to the switch so that could be your problem.
If you don't have a neutral at the switch then you need to take a feed from a light fitting.

I think light switch also connected to fan through a junction box. Probably neutral not present. Check brown wire with tester if it has light then neutral(blue) has issue.

You've probably wired it incorrectly. Is there a neutral, for example, available in the switch? Just taking a feed directly from a switch may not be sufficient, either that or you've not connected it correctly at the switch. That's the only reason if you've proved the mirror works when you plug it in.
