Plastering Single skin block shed
Anonymous user 05/03/2024 - 2.30 PM
Hi, I’m looking at getting the inside of my single skin block shed plastered (the block is painted on the inside and has previous sand/cement render on outside with a silicone render system on top) What’s the best way of getting this done? Plaster straight on, render coat first, dot & dab or something else? Thanks :)

Hi I would get your plasterer to clean off paint using a grinder with a wire wheel attachment giving a good key then apply link below then you can render & skim
don't use bonding coat on external walls
hope this helps

i suppose it would probably depend on the intended usage ? however there are two ways i would suggest. either A, board the garage out and skim or B, simply skim on existing. if just skimming i would suggest a good couple of coats of pva first for adhesion. if boarding & skimming theres no need for pva. Again, depending on usage, a dampcourse before plastering might be a good idea.
