Do fascias have to removed before re-slating the whole roof?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, The existing facias and soffits can stay on unless there are damaged or rotten, it is best to put these on first if being changed as the facia board will act as a kick up for the first course of slates/tiles. When I say facia board I mean the timber backing board, you can clad with the pvc after the roof is finished if you like. Kind regards, Matt

Not always no, if fascia’s are in good condition and any work on the roof doesn’t require taking them off, your all good.

No, fascia can be removed before, during or after slating.
