PVC Edge Strip (Office Desk) Glue advice

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.47 PM

Having recently reduced down the size of an office desk top I have been able to salvage the pvc edge strip 80cm from the off cut that I wish to stick back to the newly cut edge. I have temporarily attached it with double sided tape (temporary measure) but of course it is peeling off. Can anyone advise please is it best to use grab adhesive or is there something else I should use. Any advice welcome. Thanks

The best thing to use would be mitre mate, it's a strong super glue with an aerosol spray reactor, once applied make sure it is in correct position as it will be stuck good. Then just tidy up the edges.

hi the best thing to use is evostic impact glue apply one coat to the cut edge then one coat to the lipping by this time add another coat to the cut edge you normally glue any porous edge twice to allow for the glue soaking in and wait for them to go dry to the touch then carefully fit the lipping. once fitted gently tap it on with a wooden block and a hammer this creates a very strong bond then sand paper any lipping proud smooth.

The best thing to use for this is contact adhesive. Apply to both surfaces, allow to go touch dry, then carefully put in place. It will have instant grab so make sure you get it in the right place. Tidy with fine paper and white spirits.
