Porcelain patio holding water on last row
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.47 PM
I saved up last year to have a 30sqm porcelain patio laid. The patio is running away from the house and into drainage. There’s approx 5 slabs on the last row against the drainage which are slightly falling back into the rest of the patio and causing water to hold. As you can imagine, 90% is running away from house, most of last row is running towards house so you get a hold of water on the join between row 1&2. Apart from that patio is spot on. The grout is non permeable so water has no where to go. Company who laid them has moved 120miles away and isn’t answering me for last 6 months. I am not in a position to spend money on someone to rectify this at the moment. Happy to save so what would be a good future amount to aim for? I don’t want to waste someone’s time coming to quote as it’s a future job. Second question; I consider myself quite handy. How hard would it be to lift and re-lay myself? They were primed with slurry and laid on a full mortar bed. Thanks all. Don’t know what best option is at the moment. (Wish I never had porcelain too!! The benefits you read about don’t seem to be true)
