Fascias, Soffits & Guttering

Flashform and fibreglass v mineral membrane and bitumen.

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.03 PM

I have two specs, comparable price for lining a leaking concrete gutter. One is for a combination of flashform and fibreglass. The other is to apply a bitumen based primer to the inside of the guttering, then a high performance torch applied membrane and fully bond then a high performance polyester torch applied mineral membrane and fully bond to the 2mm membrane layer. Which is better? Thanks Richard.

If both are applied correctly then you shouldn’t have a problem with either. If your question is in regards to lifespan then it would all depend on what the manufacturer guarantees on their products, most high performance liquids and torch on felt guarantee 20-25 years Ask for a description of the materials and go to the manufacturers individual website to see what they specify

I personally would not recommend grp as it fails quite often but that’s my opinion there’s some companies who do a good job and some others don’t felt is a good option
