If there is damp in your property and the exterior problem has been all repaired and solved, we as painters will apply 2 thick coats of zinsser, primer sealer and stain killer and then go on with our top coats when dry

Yes, it's generally advisable to apply a primer before painting, even if you've used damp sealant on your walls. Primer helps improve paint adhesion, provides a more uniform surface for painting, and can enhance the durability and longevity of the paint job.
If you've used a damp sealant, the primer will create a better surface for the paint to adhere to, ensuring a smoother and more even finish. Additionally, primer can help to block any remaining stains or discoloration, promoting a more professional and aesthetically pleasing result.
Choose a primer that is suitable for the type of surface you are painting and compatible with the paint you plan to use. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the primer and paint products for the best results.

I always recommend using primer before painting. Primer acts as an adhesive to the coat of paint on top of it. It will help to provide an even surface and finish and your paint job will last longer. Primer will help block any remaining stains and give extra cover to any potential discolouration.
