Responsible person Vs Person who allowed access to property

If a gas operative finds a defect on another appliance during a routine boiler service does the gas operative notify the responsible person or the person who allowed access to the property? (I'm doing some practise questions for my ACS and the book I'm using says the gas operative should notify the person who allowed access to the property but I think its the responsible person.) Just checking who's wrong... Thanks.

Dependant on defects found these should always be noted down onto any paperwork you are writing out. Ie cp12 or any gas safety certificates. This will make all parties aware and will cover you if they do not take your advice. So in Answer to your question, all parties will be aware because they all have a copy of paperwork you provide when carrying out your checks. Hope this helps.

Responsible person as they will be the ones who required the work and own or are responsible for the appliances. It's usually to do with warranty or insurance and to cover ass. Also, if no one is available at the site, then u need to record all and any defects plus take appropriate action gas safe wise.get a signature too. Or at the least an acknowledgement of the information being passed to them.

While I was installing a boiler in a propert while checking the existing pipe work I traced a gas fire in a new change of use bedroom it was a New HMO I asked for the paperwork for the fire and noted no extra vent I wasn’t happy leaving the fire connected so I disconnected it and capped off the gas supply as fire as far I could tell it was the right thing to do
