Shortening the distance between rad pipes

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.54 PM

I currently have some rad pipes in my living which I removed a very large radiator from. The gap between the pipes is over 1800mm. I am wanting to put a smaller rad in that room so my thinking is I will need one of the pipes moving closer to the other. The pipes come up from the cellar room underneath so easily accessible but wondering if just cutting back the pipe in the cellar, then fitting a pushfit connection and then the piece of copper pipe on the other end going up to the rad would work or is it best to get the pipe cut back and the right length of new copper pipe soldered on

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there Yes that's fine to use a push fit joint to the copper pipe. You will have to drain the system down prior to any works done. Hope this helps.

Hi, is ok to use push fit on the copper pipe.. Make sure you drain the system before you intend to cut any pipe.
