Tenants 7 year old washing machine faulty - to fix or replace

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.37 PM

I bought a Samsung eco bubble WF80F5E5U4X/EU in April 2017 while I lived in the house. Now it's got tenants in it and he called to say the machine powers on but won't start washing. Is it worth trying to get this fixed or am I better off replacing it? Just fixed some problems they had with the boiler so really looking for the most cost effective option right now. Thank you.

I would advise to replace it with the cheapest most basic one you can find. Repair costs often approach the price of a new machie anyway and its already seven years old. You would possibly reduce the amount of potential issues with a new machine rather than a repaired one. Make sure you register it for warranty and good luck!

Most of the times fixed item last not so long and in long term most efficient way would be replace with new machine with longest warranty time

I would check water feed, could be close, door locking system and check if thete is any warning light on. If none of these would start washing machine, than I would replace it.
