Exposed shower mixer - 20mm feed or 15mm from conventional boiler with pump?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.36 PM
Hi all I have bought an exposed shower mixer valve which has come without a fixing plate but also two strange offset connectors which reduce from 22mm/3/4" at the mixer to 15mm/1/2" for the h/c water in. We have already plumbed 22mm pipes from the shower pump. Should we reduce these pipes to 15mm to fit the supplied connectors? If so how near to mixer? Or should we replace the connectors with a compression male coupler 22mm x 3/4" to go straight onto 22mm? If we go with the second option will the thermostatic mixer still function correctly? Big thanks for all help

You have to reduce the pipe from 22 to 15mm.

22mm pipes will give better flow, some people would even go to 28mm for an even more powerful shower.
