Different water pressure between 2 1st floor showers

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.36 PM

I am wondering why we would have different water pressures between 2 showers on the same floor. Setup is: - F&E fed system - feed tank in the loft, hot water tank in master bedroom ensuite and boiler 2 floors down in the cellar - 2 showers being on in the master ensuite and other in the main bathroom no more than 15-20 feet away The shower in the main bathroom pressure is fine(well fine for the system we have) but there is no pressure in the ensuite one and pretty much trickles out. Things I have thought about are: - possibly a pump to the main bathroom shower giving it more pressure. One reason I thought this in the adjoining wall to the master bedroom there is an electrical switch(think RCA switch or something) which I have been told could be for a shower pump). However have tested both showers with this switch in both directions and no pressure change so maybe not - location of the piping as I know can affect but then the shower with little pressure is right next to the hot water tank so would have though shorter to travel hence better pressure?. Also the taps in that ensuite for the sink and bath have good pressure also. - faulty shower unit so maybe the head, shower pipe or more of an issue the pipes feeding the water supplies Also if there was a shower pump where would that be located and signs I could check for one Cheers

Could be faulty shower, or shower head/hose. Hope this helps.

couple of things, maybe the main bathroom cold water is coming from main water and same thing about hot water is coming frome boiler, about second shower is low pressure maybe cold feed is coming from tank in loft area. or maybe shower mixer has limescale or debris. or pipe feeds diameter is not suitable. hope this helps

Doesn't sound like there is a pump, as it would be heard when the showers run. Because one shower runs ok, it tends to say that the head of water is ok so it seems to point to the shower itself. This coud be blocked filters, or a faulty valve.
