Does the electrician provide a drawing with direction from the owner of the house of where the plugs sockets and lighting will go or is that the architect that provides.

The electrician will follow the regulations of certain positions and heights however I myself ask the customer where they require the sockets etc then if they are not in line with regulations I advise and reposition as close to the required location as I can

This is up to the customer/client where they want to have power outlets and then I can confirm from a qualified background if this complies with the BS7671 electrical regulations and also building regulations.

In a typical scenario, the electrician usually does not provide detailed drawings indicating the specific locations of plugs, sockets, and lighting fixtures. The responsibility for providing such drawings typically lies with the architect or the homeowner's plans. Architects or homeowners often work with electrical plans or layouts to indicate the desired locations for electrical fixtures in a building. The electrician, on the other hand, interprets these plans and installs wiring and electrical components according to the specified locations and in compliance with relevant regulations such as BS 7671 and Part P regulations. The electrician is responsible for ensuring that the electrical installation adheres to safety standards and regulations. It's crucial for effective communication between the homeowner, architect, and electrician to ensure that the electrical plans accurately reflect the homeowner's preferences and needs. This collaboration helps in achieving a well-designed and safe electrical installation. Regards Peter McCann @ Scope Services Group LTD

As the electrician i would ask the customer where and how many lights, sockets etc they’re wanting. I would then put them in those positions. If some positions were awkward i would always go back to the customer.
