Attached wardrobe

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.03 PM

We have a large wardrobe attached to the wall using nails and a bracket. There is a lot of dust and spiders webs behind the wardrobe and little space to reach behind. How do I go about cleaning behind the wardrobe. Is it possible to detach, clean and then reattach? Or will this damage the wall?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes this is possible by ensuring screws are used on the brackets so they can easily be removed for cleaning. Other options could include minimising any future gaps so less cleaning is required.

The bracket should be able to be removed and refitted without damaging the wall unless it has been glued on with a silicone type product. If it has just been screwed into a plastic plug in the wall it should be fine to remove and refit.
