Toilet cistern won't stop filling

Our new toilet was taken off to plaster the wall - put back on and now the cistern won't stop filling up

filling valve jamed in down position or broken limescale will do it too get it replaced not a lot of money to fix

My answer is adjust the floating system or the mecanism is broken like the washer if i can’t fix it change for the new water inlet
