Roofing

Bonding gutter.

Anonymous user 19/02/2024 - 2.30 PM

I've just had a new roof installed and there's bonding gutters each side as mid terraced. Ones a dry fix and the others a flat profile one. Next doors tiles on the traditional flat profile grp gutter are bedded down on mortar as was our old one's to a certain degree, but the new ones haven't got anything under now. Is this suitable as all I see online fitting instructions is they should be bedded down, this is for the traditional grp Flat bonding gutter, not the raised dry fix. Roofers telling me he's never done it in 25yrs!!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Condensation can be a concern after roofing work, especially if there are changes in ventilation or insulation. It's essential to ensure proper ventilation in your roof space to prevent condensation issues. While some condensation may occur, it's important to monitor and address any excessive build-up. If you're noticing significant condensation along a specific batten, it's advisable to consult with the roofing professionals who performed the work. They can assess the situation, check if there are any issues with ventilation or insulation, and provide guidance on how to address the condensation concern. It's better to address the issue promptly to prevent potential long-term problems like mold or rot.
