Warm radiator upstairs bedroom

Anonymous user 11/03/2024 - 2.30 PM

All other radiators in the house are fine with the exception of one in the bedroom. It was cold and I bled it, no air hissing noise was heard and I bled about 2 litres of water and the water is clear. The radiator started to become warm in places mainly the top, not hot to touch like the others and only about 20% of the radiator was hot. Should I continue to bleed the radiator or does it sound like there are issues that can’t be fixed with bleeding the radiator more? Thanks

Possibly sludge in the bottom of the radiator. If the water was coming out black that would indicate the system could do with a power flush.

Hi Vicky You may need a plumber for this job , I would say it’s either of these problems Sticking trv pin (pin stuck shut not allowing any flow) Iron oxide build up (sludge in radiators this normally starts in down stairs radiators) The system may need to be balanced shutting other radiators down a little to balance the flow to each radiators equally Hope you get sorted Lloyd

It needs to be some ajustments on the valves so the water can circulate on all the radiator on the same way
