Lifting LVT Vinyl Plank click-fit Flooring
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.36 PM
I have Tarkett Starfloor Vinyl click fit flooring installed, I think it is about 4mm thick. Anyway, unfortunately water has got underneath and I need to get it lifted (also a couple damaged) to dry the concrete underneath. I want to know if it is possible to lift the floor and relay it. I have a few replacement planks that can replace the damaged ones but not enough to replace the whole floor.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes, it is possible to take up and replace new planks, but because it’s a click system so you would need to take up the whole floor to dry out the water first then you can reinstall it and change any day planks

You can take the floor out, dry the entire surface and replace the tiles that were damaged by water, if it was about vinyl flooring rools it was more complicated, in your case it is about the click system which makes the job simpler and faster

It is possible to lift the click-system flooring. You may also need to remove any scotias that are in place. Let both the concrete floor and the clic flooring dry. Use a hygrometer to test how dry the concrete is before relaying.
