Adding dormer to existing loft conversion

Hi, Interested to know more about adding a dormer to an existing loft conversion. Loft conversion was done in 2001. The ceiling height is approx 202cm (in centre). Wanting to add dormer to back of house. Approx 3 metres wide. Rough costs and what do I need to do to make this possible? Thanks in advance!!

Prices never give with out arhitect drowning and structural calculations!

Hi,
You’ll need to speak with architect 1st to get drowning, sort out planning permission, party wall agreement and building control.
Get quote from builder
Once all in place and agreed then green light to start
Rough cost 40K but it all depends on materials, finishes and a lot more effects on cost…

Hi you need 3 things for a loft dormer conversion.
1 - existing height is 2020mm which not high enough unless you have room to go higher ( needs to be 2450mm overall ).
2- whole of loft floor will need to be on steel structure which takes away 300mm from your whole loft internal Height , so existing loft will have to be dismantled with the stairs.
