Sash Window Draft from the side

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.03 PM

Hi I have uPVC sash windows - Bygone Collection. There is a substantial draft coming in from the side of the window where the pulley bit is. (see image in link) https://ibb.co/LxQqSnr All the windows in the house are the same style of windows. Only a few are having this issue Does anyone have an idea how I can draft proof this? Thanks! :)

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Tbh the only reason you should have a draught is one of two reasons 1, you have bought cheap windows and so the seals are not aligning 2, whoever fitted your windows have not fitted them plumb square and level and therefore you have gaps between the frame and the sash

The Bygone Collection is a MasterFrame system and usually quite efficient. I would need to know more, such as, when did the windows become draughty ? Have they become easier or harder to slide up and down ? Does the woolpile weather-proof seal look evenly aligned around each moving sash ( looking from inside ) ? These facts need to be answered first.
