Best way to fix patches in paintwork from bad second coat?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.52 PM

I have been painting my spare room and the first coat went on really well apart from a few places, so (and I know this is my mistake) I touched up with a second coat. Obviously this has left me with lots of patches. What’s the best way to resolve this?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It sounds like you didn't do a full second coat, why?, the obvious answer here is to paint the whole thing again, and if need be even a third coat.

You'll need to do another coat all over. Some paints just don't work with retouching. Generally a wall should always have two coats anyway to get the best result.

do the whole job again . touching up areas with either a brush or roller isn't always a good result. so take your time with even coats and cover all the surface its time but you will get a better result
