electrician or plumber?

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.36 PM

Hi there, our Beko dishwasher has stopped working and we need it repairing urgently but not sure if it was correct to require an electrician to attend, as we thought it might be the motor? or should we be posting the job differently, as none of the electricians we’ve seen on this site and invited, mention dishwashers or combine with plumbing. Please advise

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I don’t think either of them would be the right choice, Beko is affordable brand, calling a professional to fix it would cost you nearly as much as the value of the dishwasher itself. I recommend you to get a new one, or take it to a place where they fix electro domestics yourself rather then call someone in as would come with a price

If the appliance isn't under warranty (you can check the serial number on the back with Beko support) beko will be able to recommend a local fixer or be able to tell you 2hat to do to fix. A lot of issues can be fixed with a service from a recommended engineer. So plumbers and electricians aren't the best route, washing machine engineer will help.

If your warranty has expired on your appliance, i would recommend local domestic appliance repairers as they do not have a call out charge and will diagnose the fault and also give you a quote of the cost of repair which will come with a guarantee.
