penetrating damp in my garden wall is causing damp in my house
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.42 PM
I have an old stone garden wall which the owner before me has rendered partly in cement. The cement has flaked off and where the wall joins my house it is causing damp in my property. What is the best way to resolve this/ preferably without building a new wall.

Hi
You can insert a new D.P.C with all sorts of chemicals these days. I would advise dry zone cream as it's simple to use. It's hard to get a good D.P.C. in a old stone garden wall, a better alternative would be to disc cut dawn the wall and insert new D.P.C then render to the D.P.C as the disk cutter won't get tight to the house wall.
Hope this helps
