Rough cost and time to make 50m gravel drive from lawn
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.36 PM
Hi I'm making a long gravel driveway from a lawn. Drive will have 2x concrete side curbs and 2 rows of granite (10x10cm) sets at 1 end. Length will be c.50x3m. From experience, pls can someone let me know rough price and time to make the drive. We are paying to hire a 3 tonne digger and getting muck removed at intervals. There is a lots of space to store muck as work is undertaken and very easy access for trucks and digger. (50% muck away/50% of the soil will be used in another area of the garden). Would anyone have an idea of reasonable price (ish) (Hertfordshire area) or rough time to allow for lawn excavation 50x3m, add weed control, add & compact Type 1, do 2x50m lengths of concrete edging set in concrete? Thanks for the responses. So approx 3 days to do a long 50 meter drive. That's a bit quicker than I thought. Would you know the average going rate for an experienced fitter (not top end price) & I guess it'll take 2 people/day? Thanks
