Who best to update 1930s wall vent

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.54 PM

We have a 1930s terrace house with a small room that has a metal vent. Wondering which trader I should be asking to come and look at it to upgrade it so we can close it when need be as our little one will be moving into that room shortly and it gets noisy and cold at times.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A hit or miss vent will reduce a draft Also depends on the air flo it maybe possible to close it completely

I would not close the air vents in your property because the vents help regulate the air flow in the building. I would replace them with some newer ones.

Open / close air vent would be suitable, however I would never recommend closing it completely.

You can block it with bricks or with wooden board which will block air and noise both.
