Light stopped working, but don’t recognise the “bulb”
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.54 PM
We had a new kitchen 8 years ago, and this morning one of the lights stopped working. I assumed it was just a regular led bulb that needed replacing. I was wrong, when I eventually managed to take it apart, there is a spring loaded mechanism holding it in the roof, the “bulb” part appears to be a black box with fins on the side and three leds. There’s a plastic cover that won’t go back on. Sorry about the poor description, but can anyone suggest what it might be and how I go about replacing it?

By the description it sounds like and led downlight with built in lamp. If you can find make and model I suggest you track it down before replacing it.

Probably an integrated fitting. No lamps. You will need to replace the whole fitting. There will be manufacturer info and model number on the body. Search online for a match.

Sounds to me like an integrated downlight. Unfortunately the entire unit will need replacing.
