Garage flooring: types of resin and some dos & donts?

Anonymous user 18/02/2024 - 2.30 PM

I want to improve the my single garage floor which is currently concrete and i am thinking of resin. Is there any guidance around what type of resin and some dos & donts?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You will find you get a mixed batch of opinions this is my personal opinion and used many times Have you thought about latex self leveling compound it is so hardwearing and durable, it can be used as a flooring finish in its own right. Once hardened, it is wear, shrink and abrasion-resistant, which makes it a perfect solution for covering damaged or uneven hard floors, such as garages, kitchens, bathrooms or hallways Additionally very cost effective

Hi i just did mine with some moisture tolerant self levelling compound and topped it off with a polyurethane based DPM/consolidator/hardener made by Sika. Most of the moisture tolerant latex levellers don't have a very durable surface and the one used was a bit dodgy so definately needed it. Now i've got a nice level base at the opening so i can install a roller door without any issues to do with the floor.
