How to apply hardie backer boards to floorboards

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.36 PM

Hiya, I am about to have a go at tiling my bathroom floor and I’m planning on putting down hardy backer boards over the floor boards before tiling. The bathroom floor is very small, probably looking at 2× 1200MM x 800mmx6mm boards - can I ask you fine people to advise how best to lay them - flexi adhesive ? Screwed ? Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Prime floor first, then stick with flex adhesive and stagger the boards and screw every 300mm. Then prime and tile.

If the floor is wooden, cement boards are fixed to the board with soft adhesive, screws, sandpaper, and then insulation, automatic document feeder and tiles. If the floor is cement, soft foam is placed under the flooring and then the tiles. This is what I recommend for bathroom floors.
