New Toilet away from soil pipe

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.46 PM

We are renovating a house and the main bathroom has no toilet(think mainly because it is located quite far away on a dofferent side of the house from the main soil pipe). We want to keep the bathroom where it is but needs a toilet and looking at what options I have I suppose from fitting a new wastepipe(if an option) to even say a macerator toilet which seems to be a common solution but heard varying reviews on them. Not sure if there are any other options

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Fergus, the maximum a toilet can be from a soil pipe is 6 metres and will also need a fall of 44mm for every 1 metre. As this is impossible without a soil stack there my opinion would be to install a macerator as it would be the most economic solution to this problem.

If its possible to install a new soil stack on a outer wall where the toilet is going. Then connect into the main drain. Which will involve a bit of digging. Macerators are not a good longtime solution.

Its dependant on which floor the main bathroom is on and where your toilet stack is located. Distance restricting, I would recommend away from a macerator if the toilet will be everyday use. They are prone is service issues, noisy and economically worse due to constant electric use. Floor location and height dependant. Try go for the connection to wasteline. ... alt option, far out one, again location dependant a MINI septic tank could be an option. a visit from a good plumber will help you :)
