Remove Soffit Panels

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.02 PM

Hi. Is it possible to remove just the soffit panels without removing the face board and guttering? I've tried giving them a push and they don't seem to move. Reason I want to remove is because I had to have the internal ceiling re plastered. (It's a dormer bungalow). They took out the insulation. There is a draft at the front of the house and I suspect it comes into the roof via the soffits and into the ceiling inside. I want to remove soffit and out in insulation if that is doable.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It all depends how well its been fitted and whether or not wen you replace it u want it to be professionally installed shortcuts can tend to cost you more in the long run so my answer yes it can but can cause u trouble wen trying to replace it the professional way to reduce your draft would be to add thermal insulation to the eve's of your roof via your loft access

it's best to remove fascia boards before replacing soffit to avoid damage. Replacing fascia costs

You should not stuff insulation into the eaves of your roof.Your roof space needs to breath. You can replace just the soffit boards. But in all honesty I would suggest having it professionally done to avoid and future costs.
