Insulation

Recommended insulation board for solid walls

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.02 PM

Hi. We’ve found that the garage extension that was added onto our property before we moved in didn’t have the adjoining wall with the house insulated. So the walls in our adjoining rooms are showing signs of moisture and never get warm in winter. I’m wanting to add some insulation birding to the wall on the inside of the garage but only really have about 35mm to work with because of the door frame. Am I best using Celotex TB4025 for this or is there a better recommended product?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Celotex will be perfect, very accurate installation will create a screen reflecting heat to the interior of the room. It is important that the walls in the room are painted with breathable paints, it will help in the drying process of the walls.

Yes that should be fine Any PIR insulation board, should do They also do a 30mm thick too Use MegaStik adhesive and some wall anchors (4-5/board) but make sure they are the plastic ones to avoid bridging. Any gaps can be filled with the same adhesive then fouled up afterwards
