Radiator Cover panel removal

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.53 PM

Are the top and side panels on my double radiator a mandatory legal requirement or can I permanently remove them as they trap dust

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It’s absolutely fine to remove them , it’s not a legal requirement neither does it have any effect on the radiators output.

Those top and side panels are a poor design on some radiators. There is no legal requirement to keep them, so you may want to take them to the scrap metal container at your recycling centre.

There is no legal requirement to have the covers fitted to the radiator and they can be easily removed although the radiator may need to be removed to remove the side panels.

The panel’s are decorative only, it comes down to preference and some of these panels damage very easily.
