Gouge in wooden floor

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.53 PM

Hi my wooden floor (engineered) has had some gouges due to heavy furniture being moved and I was wondering if if can be fixed either myself or through professional services. The gouges are about 1mm deep and 1cm by 1 cm in some areas. Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You may consider the option of hiring a heavy floor sander

You can mix some wax to get your colour… and it’ll be the easiest way to fix it…

If it is a solid wood engineered floor. You could potentially steam the areas to raise the grain and lift the gouges. Dribble or spray some water over area cover with cotton rag and momentarily place hot iron over wet rag to heat and steam affected area. This will cause the timber to swell and fill the gouges. May need to repeat a few times.
