Paint always looks darker on wallpaper seams

Anonymous user 17/03/2024 - 2.30 PM

Hi I've recently had new wallpaper put up directly over the plaster and had it painted a few days after so it could dry properly. However I noticed at certain angles I can see the paint is a little thicker or darker down all of the seams and joins on the wallpaper. Is there a reason for this happening and can we do anything different or to remedy it?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

1) You will probably find its excess glue on the paper when applied and not cleaned off properly prior to painting. 2) They have skimmed over joint to hide it with filler and not covered with paint properly.

Hello . Sounds like wallpaper paste hasn't been cleaned off properly or it may need another coat of paint..
