Channel drain joins and drainage

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.51 PM

Hey there everyone! I'm going to install some channel drainage on my driveway. I'll need to cut a section at some point. What's the best way or product to use to seal the joins to get them watertight? Second question is about the drainage of the water itself. The channel drain is intended to catch water from entering the garage from the driveway. The fall goes toward the garage (was like that when we bought the house) and not easily remedied without huge cost. Anyway, I cant drain the water from the garage threshold without laying metres and metres of channel to get it to a border going round various corners of the building and bay windows. So, what's the best way to drain, just punch a hole and let it drain through the block paving sand as the rest of the driveway does? The driveway is block paved and permeable so its not a great volume of water to contend with. Advice very much appreciated. Thanks, Michael Thanks, Mike

If that was me doing drive way I would install aqua channels at garage door easily installed all you have to do is look for closest Down pipe which is 9 times out of 10 on gable end off house or next to frond door dependening on shape off house after you find that you will need to use a core cut 4inch or 5inch then lay out aqua channels to exact length mix concrete up then lay channels to 5mm below the entrance to garage after that is set relay and cut blocks in to finish job

Gutter sealant is good for the joints. A small soakaway in the front garden would deal with the water drainage. Would need to see a plan of the property as minimum of 5m from house is recommended. In certain cases where this is impossible, it is allowed to discharge the surface water into the main sewer.

You will need to install alco channels in front of the garage , mark out where there going , lift out or cut along to fit If there is no way to connect to a drain you will have to dig a soak away in the corner of where the fall goes to cover with me brain then reinstate block good luck
